Program Details


Meorot is for elementary aged students (Kindergarten to 5th Grade). Classes will group grades (i.e. K-1, 2-3, 4-5) and will be capped at 12 students. Classes will be designed to cultivate a supportive environment with a low student to teacher ratio.

Prior to the Covid crisis classes met twice a week, Mondays & Thursdays, for a total of 5 hours per week.For the 1st half of the 2020-21 academic year, Meorot will be pursuing a model of private tutoring where designated members of the Meorot Board will match students with appropriate teachers and modalities. There will also be an opportunity to group students in cohorts based on their skills. In addition, for students Meorot will be providing complimentary sessions teathered to the chagim and for parents Meorot will be pursuing a series of parent workshops.

Admission Guidelines

  1. A current IEP that includes

    • a special education program recommendation (not just related services)

    • related services including but not limited to speech and language services

    • scores from a psycho-educational or neuropsychological evaluation conducted within the past 18 months (or separately provided)​

  2. A recommendation letter from a principal of a local yeshiva (or a local Orthodox Rabbi if the family is not currently enrolled in a local Yeshiva)

  3. This program is specifically designed for students

    • who require a special education classroom setting

    • without significant developmental or behavioral challenges

  4. ​Admission subject to approval by the director
